Intellectual property rights and content takedown procedure

Our Commitment

InfoBooks.org is a public online library and the books featured here have been found on the Web, on public domain pages, or shared by users who love reading and by cultural institutions and organizations.

There are thousands of books that are in the public domain, some because they always have been and others because they have become so over the years. The transition of works into the public domain depends on the country and its legislation.

While we defend the freedom of knowledge exchange, we respect intellectual property rights and applicable international laws.

How We Operate

At InfoBooks.org, we search, find, organize, and make available to users the documents found via their original links. InfoBooks.org does not sell books nor profit from the work of writers.

We are not responsible for the legality in terms of copyright of indexed, displayed, and/or shared materials, as no file is DRM-protected (Digital Rights Management), making automatic digital determination of a book's copyright status impossible. For this reason, we respond one by one to claims made directly on our website by manually removing infringing material within 48 hours of receiving the claim.

Takedown Procedure

If your literary or research work has been shared on InfoBooks.org and you do not agree, simply follow the procedure below and we will carry out the removal within 48 hours.

To submit a DMCA takedown request, please provide:

  1. 1 Your full name and contact information (email address).
  2. 2 The identification of the work protected by copyright that you believe has been infringed.
  3. 3 The individual URL links to each book for which you hold the copyright on InfoBooks.org.
  4. 4 A statement indicating that you are the copyright holder or that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright holder.

For Publishers and Authors

If you are a publisher or author and wish for us to remove any literature from InfoBooks.org, you can send us an individual link to each book for which you hold the copyright or on behalf of which you act, and we will remove them as stipulated by international law within 48 hours.
